The FIAS Fellowship Program for International Students in France 2022/2023
The FIAS Fellowship Program accepts all applications for the foreign students who will be starting their Ph.D. degrees in France.
The FIAS is an international scholarship program proposing high-level scientific residency at six IASs in Aix-Marseille, Lyon, Nantes, Loire Valley, Montpellier, and Paris. The FIAS Program sustains high-quality and innovative research while completing its research with maximum independence and benefits from strong scientific and non-academic aid from the institutes.
The call is available to all fields of Social Science and Humanities and all research fields. Research projects from other sciences with cross-cutting Social Science and Humanities corresponding fields are also qualified. The Institute strongly suggests visiting the institute’s website to know more about its principles, scientific priorities, and colleagues.
The scholars will aid from the supporting and positive scientific environment that the IAS offers, represented by an interdisciplinary group of colleagues and a close connection with local research potential. The scholars are free to run research and organize their work as they please.
Established in 2020, the FIAS Fellowship program will operate from the educational year 2024 to 2025. For the educational year 2023-2024, there will be 37 10-month scholarships for professional researchers from all fields of social sciences and humanities.
The FIAS Fellowship Program is dedicated to ensuring more equal and valuable options and working on a greater diversity within its academic society.
The FIAS Fellowship program boosts scholarships and involvement in the social sciences and humanities (SSH) and the interface between the SSH and other sciences.
It develops and boosts French scientific residencies offered by internationally professional researchers. It offers scientists from all over the world the chance to spend an academic year in one of France’s six most current scientific fields.
FIAS helps individual research: colleagues, excused from educational and academic duties, performing part-time positions in the most freedom positions, with firm scientific and non-academic help at the Institutes for Advanced Study (IAS). This experience is designed to provide every student with material and intellectual requirements that can significantly advance their professional careers, as they can accomplish in a short time what can be done in many years in a fraction of an hour.
FIAS fosters intellectual exchange: fellows are exposed to the collective benevolent intelligence of international and multidisciplinary peer groups and move their work to a more elevated and transdisciplinary level.
