Application is now open for the Stanford Next Asia Policy Lab (SNAPL) Fellowships for Global Scholars. Interested applicants are encouraged to send their applications in before the deadline date.

About Stanford University and Fellowship

Located in Stanford, California, Stanford University is a private research university formerly known as Leland Stanford Junior University. With more than 17,000 students enrolled, the campus is one of the biggest in the country at 8,180 acres (3,310 hectares).

In honor of their only child, Leland Stanford Jr., who had passed away from typhoid illness at the age of fifteen the year before, Leland Stanford, the railroad magnate and eighth governor of California as well as the sitting senator at the time, created Stanford University in 1885 with the help of his wife, Jane.

Applications are being accepted for visiting fellow positions at SNAPL, which will start in the autumn quarter of 2024, from professionals and researchers in the Asia-Pacific area. There are three slots for visiting fellows, one of which is reserved especially for research on the Philippines. The lab is looking for academics and professionals with doctorates or notable track records of professional accomplishments about the following four study themes: “Talent Flows and Development,” “Nationalism and Racism,” “U.S.-Asia Relations,” and “Democratic Crisis and Reform.”

The visiting fellows will collaborate on research on one or more of the four aforementioned themes with postdoctoral fellows, connected Stanford professors, and students.
