Wageningen University & Research is pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity – a fully funded PhD position in the field of Cell and Developmental Biology. This scholarship is crafted to support a dynamic, inventive, and talented individual in unraveling the intricacies of physiology and molecular mechanisms governing plasma membrane adaptation to environmental stimuli.
The overarching goal of the project is to comprehensively characterize the spatio-temporal changes in the plasma membrane proteome during the response to environmental stimuli, with a particular focus on the root of the model organism Arabidopsis thaliana. Leveraging cutting-edge approaches such as biochemistry, high-end confocal microscopy, spatial transcriptomics, and cell biology, the research endeavors to unravel the complex organization of the plasma membrane.
