Eligibility Criteria for Mads Øvlisen PhD Scholarships
Applicants are advised to meet the following requirements to be qualified for Mads Øvlisen PhD Scholarships at Novo Nordisk Foundation:
- Countries Eligible to Apply: Citizens of all nations are welcome to apply.
- Acceptable Courses or Subjects: Practice-based artistic research in art or crating, or PhD fellowships in art history before or after 1900.
- Admissible Requirements: Applicants must meet all requirements to be considered for admission.
- A Master’s degree or its equivalent is required of applicants before application submission.
- Candidates for the PhD program must be anchored at an administering host institution in Denmark and enrolled in a doctoral degree-awarding institution, such as a university.
- A university, museum, or art academy can serve as the host institution, where the candidate will work and be employed most of the time.
- The application must be submitted with letters of enrollment and hosting from the relevant institutions.
- Each applicant is limited to submitting one application per calendar year for a particular project or purpose.

- The ability to write and speak English fluently is a requirement for students.

- Evidence of obtaining a Master’s degree or its equivalent.
- Detailed project proposal, including research questions, hypothesis, methodology, and/or empirical data.
