About the University of Queensland and Scholarship
Queensland’s first academic health science system, Brisbane Diamantina Health Partners, heavily relies on the University of Queensland. The organizations involved in this partnership right now are Children’s Health Queensland, Mater Health Services, Metro North Hospital and Health Service, Metro South Health, QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, Queensland University of Technology, The University of Queensland, and the Translational Research Institute.

Hanwoori Restaurant Pty Ltd and The University of Queensland established the Hyun Family Korea Scholarship in 2022 to encourage a new generation of Australian Korean Studies scholars to participate in the exchange, thereby deepening their knowledge of the Korean language, history, and culture and preparing them for future careers.

The Hyun Family Korea Scholarship at the University of Queensland – Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are advised to meet the following prerequisites to be qualified for The Hyun Family Korea Scholarship at the University of Queensland:
- are accepted into the UQ Abroad Program at a host institution in Korea;
- are enrolled in a major or field of study in Korean at UQ;
- do not hold another travel grant or scholarship;
- have not previously held the Scholarship.
Selection Criteria
The following will be taken into account by the school:
- The importance of the proposed trip to your future success in the field as stated in your statement;
- Your academic aptitude and future academic potential;
- Your demonstrated dedication to the Korean language, either through extracurricular or academic work;
- Your interest in journalism, communications, or other media-related fields;
- Any other information that may be deemed pertinent to your future success in your field of study.
