The University of Leeds was first established in 1874 as the Yorkshire College of Science and has since grown into one of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England’s top universities. The University of Leeds, with its history of academic distinction and commitment to research, is now the eleventh-largest in the United Kingdom in terms of overall enrollment. After prestigious institutions like Manchester, Edinburgh, University College London, and King’s College London, the university is the fifth most famous university in the UK in terms of the number of applications. Each year, the institution receives over 67,000 undergraduate applications.

Strong financially, the University of Leeds reported £924.7 million in revenue for the fiscal year 2021–2022, of which £177.3 million was attributable to research grants and contracts. With a financial endowment of £87.4 million as of 2022, the university is rated among the top twenty British universities.

It ranked eighth for Research Power, a metric that combines the grade point average score and the full-time equivalent number of researchers submitted, and tied for 20th place among multi-faculty institutions in the UK for the quality (GPA) of its research in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework.

The University of Leeds’s prominence across the world is demonstrated by its rankings in several international evaluations. Leeds is ranked 153rd in the world according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2021. It is ranked 84th in the world by the CWTS Leiden Ranking. Eligibility Criteria for Head of School Excellence Scholarship

Candidates are advised to meet the following requirements to be qualified for the Head of School Excellence Scholarship at the University of Leeds:

  • An unconditional or conditional offer in Art History and Cultural Studies is a prerequisite for admission to the School of Fine Arts Taught Masters program in 2023.
  • Have an outstanding academic background that they are proud of.
  • The candidate must be able to support the intellectual and cultural life of the political science and international studies school.
  • To be charged a fee, it must be considered “international.”

  • your motivations for selecting the subject you have selected and for attending the School of Performance and Cultural Industries

  • any goals you have for the period you spend studying at the university
