The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies at the University of Oxford is offering the FirstRand Oxford African Studies Scholarship for an MSc in African Studies. FirstRand and the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies have extended their relationship for four more years, enabling a deserving South African student to pursue an MSc in African Studies at the University of Oxford, one of the top universities in the world.

The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies and FirstRand are seeking the most deserving candidates who can make a meaningful contribution to South Africa upon their return and who will genuinely benefit from the opportunity.

Eligibility Criteria for FirstRand Oxford African Studies Scholarship

Candidates are advised to meet the following requirements to be eligible for the FirstRand Oxford African Studies Scholarship at the University of Oxford:

  • The interviewing and selection procedure, which will take place in tandem with the FirstRand international postgraduate scholarship program, will be handled by FirstRand. Academic brilliance, leadership potential, community involvement, and the ability to influence someone’s fate will all be taken into consideration while evaluating candidates.
  • To be eligible for the University of Oxford’s MSc in African Studies, candidates must apply and be approved.
