Benefits:
- The award has a maximum value of $31,192.00 annually, with a maximum award length of six months. The reward will be paid out in fortnightly installments.
- The Overseas Student Health Cover (OSCH) and course tuition fees for international students will be covered by the DVCR Completion Award.
- Subject to acceptance, the first installment will be paid within two weeks of the start date mentioned in the offer letter.
Eligibility Criteria for University of New England DVCR Completion Awards for PhD Students
Applicants are advised to meet the following requirements to be qualified for the University of New England DVCR Completion Awards for Ph.D. Students:
- Typically, qualifying candidates beginning their fourth year of candidature—full-time equivalent—will be eligible for a DVCR Completion Award.
- Candidates need to be in the write-up stage and have finished gathering data, or comparable.
- During the grant time, candidates must be able to complete their thesis. The longest award period is six months.
- During the award period, candidates must be enrolled full-time.
- Principal Supervisors need to be very supportive of their candidates.
- The DVCR Completion Award may only be given to candidates once.
- A candidate will not be able to apply for a DVCR Completion Award if they have already been granted a scholarship extension.
- If a candidate is already receiving a scholarship, they could not be eligible.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit:
- A Doctoral Thesis Completion Plan that includes identifying a specific, quantifiable Mid-Point Milestone to be met and the probability that the thesis will be finished and submitted for review within the Award time;
- Declarations from the principal supervisor endorsing and supporting them; and
- Support from the coordinator for HDR;
- Endorsement (if available) from an external funding source or attached grant.
