About Imperial College London and Fund
Imperial College London, officially recognized as the Imperial College of Science, Technology, and Medicine, stands as a renowned public research university nestled in the heart of London, England. Its illustrious history can be traced back to the visionary Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria, whose cultural vision encompassed iconic landmarks such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, and several royal colleges. In 1907, Imperial College London was officially established by royal charter, marking a significant milestone in higher education. This charter effectively unified three prestigious institutions: the Royal College of Science, the Royal School of Mines, and the City and Guilds of London Institute.
The evolution of Imperial College London continued in 1988 with the establishment of the Imperial College School of Medicine, achieved through a merger with St Mary’s Hospital Medical School. Subsequently, in 2004, Queen Elizabeth II inaugurated the Imperial College Business School, further expanding the university’s academic portfolio.
In a commendable effort to support academic excellence, Imperial College London is pleased to announce the 2024 Basil Furneaux Memorial Fund scholarship for Prospective and continuing Postgraduate taught, Master’s research students. This scholarship holds significant value, offering up to a £17,000 contribution towards tuition fees for the entire period of Master’s study. The award is structured as a reduction in the tuition fee, with recipients having their Home/EU or Overseas fees covered, depending on their fee status.

As the university continues to be a trailblazer in science, technology, and medicine, initiatives like the Basil Furneaux Memorial Fund scholarship contribute to its legacy of academic excellence and innovation.
