About the University Of Westminster and Scholarship

In London, the United Kingdom, there is a public institution called the University of Westminster. It was London’s first polytechnic, opening in 1838 under the name Royal Polytechnic Institution. In August 1839, The Polytechnic officially got a Royal charter; in 1992, it changed its name to the University of Westminster.

The main campus of Westminster is located on Regent Street in the heart of London, and it also has campuses in Fitzrovia, Marylebone, and Harrow. In Uzbekistan’s capital city of Tashkent, it also runs the Westminster International University. A total of 65 departments and centers, including the Communication and Media Research Institute (CAMRI) and the Centre for the Study of Democracy, are housed within the university’s three colleges and twelve schools.

Additionally, it features a law school, business school, and institute for policy studies. The institution’s yearly revenue for 2021–22 was £240.9 million, with £223.7 million in expenses, of which £4.25 million came from research grants and contracts. The institution is a part of the European Institution Association, EFMD, EQUIS, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and the Association of MBAs.

The news highlights Sony Interactive Entertainment’s and the University of Westminster’s commitment to inclusion, equality, and diversity. The University and SIE are both committed to providing individuals from all backgrounds with the opportunity and support they require to realize their best potential.

The Level-Playing Field Scholarship will provide financial assistance to home postgraduate students of Black and Mixed Black ancestry enrolled in computer science and engineering degrees at Westminster to encourage them to think about and pursue careers in the entertainment technology and game business.

Benefits:

Successful candidates will earn a total of £10,000, of which £5,000 will be sent to your designated bank account and £5,000 will be used immediately toward your tuition costs and paid to the university in November. The prize is exclusively given to first-year postgraduate or part-time students in two-year programs.

Eligibility Criteria for Level-Playing Field Scholarship (Postgraduate) supported by PlayStation Career Pathways Program

Applicants are advised to meet the following requirements to be qualified for the Level-Playing Field Scholarship (Postgraduate) supported by the PlayStation Career Pathways Program at the University Of Westminster:

  • Possess an offer from the University of Westminster for enrollment in a postgraduate program in the School of Computer Sciences and Engineering beginning in September 2023 and qualify as a Home student for tuition reasons.
  • Being of Black or Mixed Black ethnicity.
  • Possess a 2.1 minimum in honors
  • After each year, successful students will be forced to share their grades and career progressions with the Level-Playing Field Scholar Group, which they will automatically join.

Note: Selection is based on personal statement and financial need.
