Eligibility Criteria for Florida International University Clark-Alonso Africa Scholarship
Applicants are advised to meet the following requirements to be qualified for the Florida International University Clark-Alonso Africa Scholarship:
- Students enrolled at FIU who want to pursue graduate degrees in Political Science or International Relations at the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs will be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- Recipients must have given a paper at the annual African Studies Association conference or other national conferences, or they must have published a paper on the politics or international relations of sub-Saharan Africa.
- The manuscript must have been either published, accepted for publication, or given a conference presentation in the preceding year.
Selection
The winner of the scholarship will be chosen by a three-person faculty panel that will evaluate the applications. The panel may, in extraordinary circumstances, declare joint winners; in such a scenario, the scholarship will be split between the two.
Award Announcement
Early in the Fall semester, during the Department’s annual Welcome Back Grads ceremony, the award will be given out.
